I hope everyone is as excited as I am about kicking off another great year with the SPE Mid-Continent Section. Our first luncheon kicked off last month with a full house to hear one of our Distinguished Lecturers, Dr. Brian Toelle, and his talk on the importance of surface seismic. October 23rd’s luncheon will feature Mike Perri from Blue Spark with a talk on an alternate method of reducing skin at the Tulsa Country Club. This talk will be a little different, as afterward, there will be an on-site demonstration in the parking lot of the new technology. I hope to see you all there!
Every year a group of dedicated volunteers give their time to setting up the SPE events. I would like to thank our board members – Susana Tandazo, Victor Jordan, and Floyd Hammond. Luke Strong has agreed to be our new Membership Chair, while Charley Mathis will be taking over Young Professional events. If you see these individuals around, I encourage you to thank them for the time they spend making our organization great.
I am excited to be a part of the section again this year as Chairman and look forward to serving the community. We are off to a great start this year with our SPE Fall RoundUp Golf Tournament. The Annual SPE Sporting Clays Classic will also be held on October 18th and there are still spots available. For more information and where to sign up you can visit our website at www.spemc.org.
