Hello again to all you fellow SPE members out there. I'm pleased to usher
in the newsletter you've been waiting so patiently and eagerly for.
that the air is crisp and the leaves are beginning to turn, I think we all know
what time it is
that's right, it's time to start shooting firearms! And what
better way to get ready for the hunting season than the SPE Sporting Clay Tournament.
And for us non hunters out there, it's generally still a great way to socialize,
get a free day off of work, and receive great refundable prizes!! Everybody wins.
So please remember to get your forms in and we'll see you out on the range Friday,
And speaking of fun times, I hope all of you headed to New
Orleans for the ATCE will have a safe and entertaining trip (and maybe even learn
something while you're there). Also, while you are there, keep note of any presentations
you think might be welcomed by our Midcon audience and send myself or our program
chair, Earl Logan, a note on your recommendation(s). What a good way to help out
the section without even volunteering.
Finally, I wanted to remind/alert
all of you that our speaker on November 2nd, Fred Growcock, will be sticking around
that afternoon to give a workshop on "STRENGTHENING WHILE DRILLING".
Fred is with M-I Swaco, and is a Distinguished Lecturer so it is sure to be a
very enlightening afternoon. Please read the abstract located later on in the
newsletter and make plans to stick around after the luncheon on November 2nd.
That's all from me this month. Enjoy the newsletter and let me know if
I can help you, or better yet if you can help me
by volunteering your time
to the SPE-MC committee.
Thanks and have a safe and happy October.
2009 2010 Chairman
