It has been a great start to our year thus far. We completed another successful SPE Fall Round Up Golf Tournament on August 29th. A special thanks goes out to all of our sponsors and all participants that made it out for a great day of golf. Another big thanks to Kyle Randolph who, once again, was gracious enough to organize the event. It is no small task and Kyle sees that it takes place with no issues year after year.

A great time was had by all that attended our Annual Sporting Clays Classic on October 28th at Long Shot Ranch. The weather cooperated nicely and we had a great turnout. Mark Carr, with Kaiser Francis, hosted the event again this year and did a wonderful job. Sponsorship was strong this year and we generated significant income for our Scholarship program.

Molly Boyd is putting together a great set of speakers for our technical luncheons and has already successfully hosted three great events thus far. Our next luncheon topic will cover "Evaluation of Reservoir Quality in Gas Shales" and will take place on November 17th. Dr. Chandra Rai, of The University of Oklahoma, will be sticking around afterwards to give a short course on the same topic for those of you that would like a more in-depth look. Registration information for both the luncheon and short course can be found on our website at

Please be sure to note that our luncheons have moved to the Summit Club this year. There are many welcome changes with our new venue and there may be a few growing pains as we become familiar. One major new benefit is free parking validation. Please be sure to bring your parking cards in with you and have it validated at the treasurer's desk as you arrive. Parking is validated for the parking garage that is in the building which houses the Summit Club and the OneOK garage located at 6th& Boulder.

I hope everyone has a safe start the Holiday season and enjoys their Thanksgiving spent with family and friends.
