April’s luncheon was another hit as Dr. Holden Zhang of TU presented his study on “Gas Lift Instabilities and Related Phenomena.” His presentation offered very informative insight into the various flow effects associated with gas lift as well as a preview of a new gas lift mandrel he has developed. Please join us for our final luncheon of the Spring Semester which will be held Wednesday, May 11th at the Summit Club. Carolina Vasconcelos Barreto will give her presentation titled “Effect of Foamer Delivery Location on Foam Lift in Horizontal Wells.”
The 2016 IOR Conference concluded 3 weeks ago and was a success. The event had over 600 attendees from around the world. Thanks to the IOR team, the MIDCON SPE Chapter will continue its strong scholarship campaign for the 2016-17 academic year. The SPE MIDCON Chapter is extremely grateful to all of those who volunteer their time as members of the IOR Committee as well as the sponsors of the event.
Please stay tuned for the next YPE Happy Hour. We are looking to have it within the next two weeks.
It is election time and no I am not talking about the upcoming Trump vs Clinton battle. I am talking about the upcoming 2016-17 SPE MIDCON Officers and Directors election. If you or someone you know would like to get involved with the SPE MIDON Chapter then please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As the SPE year winds down, so does my reign as Chairman. I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to serve on the SPE MIDCON Board. I have had the pleasure of working with some great people during my involvement with SPE and I am very thankful for all of their help. I look forward to continuing to be an active member of this Chapter.
