Happy New Year to everyone, we almost were able to celebrate with a White Christmas this year, but the weather man failed us again. It’s probably for the better, saving us tragic driving conditions on our visits to and from friends and family. I hope everyone enjoyed their special moments and traditions and want to wish everyone a successful 2013.
On another note, I'd like to remind everyone how important membership is to our section. So I will urge each of you to get online and renew your membership(s). I would also encourage all of us to try to engage the young professionals entering our business. The YPs have grown rapidly in Tulsa over the past few years, and with the aging demographics our industry faces, that trend is not likely to change anytime soon. The younger generation will all have more of an impact on our jobs and lives. The quicker we can get them involved in the technical community
the better off all parties will be.
Thanks to everyone who attended our luncheon on December 3rd. Our next luncheon is scheduled for January 17th and will be held at Tulsa Country Club (TCC). Steve Faurot will be speaking on Frick N Frac, the myths surrounding natural fracturing. Please be sure to attend. Rita has finished the scheduling for 2013 and I’m excited about some of the upcoming talks. Also, mark your calendars for a member appreciation event in early April. More details to come at the SPE Luncheons.
