The holiday season is fast approaching, and we are about to wind up our section's fall program. Our final luncheon of 2017 will be held Wednesday, December 6. Our speaker will be Mark Kirk with the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors; his topic will be "Rules of Professional Ethical Conduct". Our first luncheon in 2018 will take place January 17—the speaker will be Chad Senters with Core Laboratories, and his talk is titled "Diversion - Be Careful What You Ask For". I will look forward to seeing you at the upcoming meetings.
Our last luncheon was held November 15; Robert Lestz (an SPE Distinguished Lecturer) gave a great talk on hydraulic fracturing with LPG. We had 48 members attend that meeting. I'd like to thank Robert for making the trip up to Tulsa from Houston, and I would like to encourage everyone who attended to go to SPE's website and complete the DL feedback form.
Several weeks ago, we polled SPEMC membership about what potential continuing education topics would be of interest. Our continuing education chairman, Dwight Rychel, is working on scheduling a couple of short courses in the coming months based on the results of that survey. Please stay tuned: we will let you know about the upcoming continuing education offerings both in email announcements and in the newsletter. We will also post them on our section's website.
Merry Christmas to all of you.
