Last month I was looking forward to seeing many of you on March 23rd and learning from Steve Jones re: producing GOR’s in multi-fractured horizontal wells. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the luncheon, but I hear that 103 of you took advantage of the learning opportunity, networking, and some good food! I did see several of you at the TU event on the evening of the 21st – in fact, it was a packed house. The TU chapter did a fabulous job organizing the event and I appreciate that they reached out to the Section to attend.
As those of you at the luncheon heard, new officer elections for our SPE section are rapidly approaching. We have done the voting electronically for a number of years now – I hope that you will all watch your email accounts and take the time to vote!!! The more you participate in Section activities, the better off we all are. Now is the time to nominate your colleagues to run for an open position – the deadline for nominations is May 5th and voting will take place the middle of May.
I will close this month with a comment about the SPE website and PDH credits. I realize we have not had the number of luncheons this year that we have often had in the past years - if any of you are in need of PDH/CEU hours, I encourage you to check out the SPE website: www.spe.org/training/continuing-education-credits.php. As you will notice, you can receive credit hours for activities that include SPE live webinars and recorded training courses. Further, the webinars are included with your paid SPE membership. https://webevents.spe.org. These are great resources be aware of regardless of your PE status.
