When licensed, all P.E.’s agreed to follow the statutes that govern the practice of engineering. Included in these statutes, are the Rules of Professional Conduct, which cover many ethical issues that a licensee might face. This presentation will review these very important tenants as a reminder of the P.E.’s pledge to protect the public. Mr. Kirk will cover all of the Rules of Professional Conduct and use examples of recent cases heard by the Board to illustrate the importance of acting ethically.
Mark Kirk earned his Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s of Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. He was a teacher for 29 years before going to work for the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in 2008. Mark first served as an investigator for the Board and has been the Communications Director since 2012.
